    Ho’oponopono Technique

I became aware of the Ho’oponopono technique thanks to Joe Vitale’s book Zero Limit. According to the book, Hawaiian psychologist Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len worked for many years in the forensic unit of the Hawaii State Hospital, dealing with criminally insane patients, and the miraculous results he achieved with his patients attracted great attention. Thanks to the Ho’oponopono technique that Dr. Hew Len learned from Hawaiian shaman Morrnah Nalamaku Simeona, all patients were discharged and the unit was closed within four years. Ho’oponopono, which emerged today as an individual meditation practice, is a part of the Hawaiian teaching called Huna and is a ritual whose roots go back thousands of years, even to Atlantis and Lemuria, according to a common view. This unusual word means “fix the mistake” or “fix everything.”

“If we can accept that we are the sum of our past thoughts, feelings, words, deeds, and actions, and that our present life and choices are colored or shaded by this bank of memories from the past, then we begin to understand how a process of correction can change our lives, our families, and our society.”

As can be understood from Simeona’s words, Ho’oponopono technique is a correction process. The process of correcting the stereotyped thoughts stored in our memory. Thus, we can experience a complete transformation by purifying the mind, emotions, soul, body and karma from all kinds of fear, doubt, destructive relationship patterns and oppressive dogmas.

Our thoughts are guided by our memories and all our experiences. If a worm comes out while eating a cherry in your childhood, it may cause you to have hesitations or a cautious approach towards cherries throughout your life. This is a conscious interaction. Unconscious interaction is the records you acquire without realizing it. A smell, a taste, an object you see, a piece of clothing, a melody that we unconsciously feel during a bad event… In the following years, you may encounter these things that you do not like or even disturb, without realizing what caused it. Many memories that do not attract your attention and that you do not remember while experiencing them continue to direct your thoughts, decisions and therefore your life. You think you make conscious decisions on every issue, but you don’t know what deep down influences these decisions. The mind manages our consciousness and subconscious with the data of the memory bank. It has been proven by Professor Benjamin Libet from the University of California that our decisions are determined before our consciousness makes the decision. Your mind is not even aware of this and claims that it made the decision with the support of your ego 😊

We create our physical environment with our thoughts shaped by being influenced in this way. The quality of our thoughts and the quality of our reality continue to develop in parallel. It is not possible for anxious negative thoughts to create a positive reality. We continue to create in our outer world whatever we have in our inner world. What our physical universe is like is 100% our responsibility.

    How to clear our records?

Ancient Hawaiians believed that every wrong action was remembered over and over again and was reflected in every being and object present at the time of its occurrence. According to this belief, if a child was sick, it could be because his parents were fighting or not behaving well, or the disruption of social order could lead to disasters. They thought that harmony could only be restored through confession and apology. Nowadays, we explain this with NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming) and apply methods to clear the hooks we throw into the past.

Ho’oponopono Technique consists of 4 sentence repetitions:

    “I love you” (love)

    “Forgive me” (forgive)

    “I’m sorry” (regret)

    “Thank you” (gratitude)

Even if you say these magic words without believing them, they have the feature of clearing the memory. The important thing is repetition. Repetition of phrases allows the person to emit signals of love and forgiveness. You can think of it as praying, praying rosary, or meditating.

“I love you” – This powerful statement clears out any negativity you feel about yourself or another person or situation. The expression of love opens the doors for the conscious and unconscious memories recorded in our DNA to be purified and transformed into love.

“Forgive me – This statement is your apology for the negativity in your thoughts that was created unintentionally.

“I’m sorry” – This is how you express your regret.

“Thank you – This phrase shows that you accept even negative situations and are grateful for the lesson they offer you.

Ho’oponopono is a problem-solving process and must occur entirely within the person. You can repeat these magic sentences both mentally and vocally whenever you want.

The miraculous thing is that when we clear something in our own consciousness, we clean and purify everyone, every place, every object associated with this memory. Dr. Hew Len also did this for his patients. He did not apply any treatment or therapy to the patients whose files he read one by one and knew all the details. He thought that “The reason for my outer world is my inner world” and that he was the cause of all these problems, and caused their healing through the purification he carried out within himself. The only time he spent with the patients was nothing more than ordinary daily conversations such as playing ball with them or cleaning the area. While everyone thought that the doctor was not working, after 4 years there was no mental patient left to be treated in the hospital.

When you clear your blockages, miraculous solutions emerge on their own. Your intuition develops, you discover the purpose of your life, you begin to move towards becoming the person you are meant to be at every moment, and you can achieve things beyond your dreams.

By cleansing ourselves, we can heal the world. Mevlana expresses the same approach with the following words: “Yesterday I was smart, I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, I am changing myself.”

The outer world is a reflection of our inner world. If we see separation in our world, it is because we carry the separation within us. When we want to empty the separatist thoughts within us, the separation no longer needs to be reflected in our world.

If you feel like there is complete chaos in your workplace, explore the chaos within you that draws these reflections to your outside world. Ask the thought or thoughts that reflect this chaos in your life to come forward to be cleared. Ask for forgiveness for perpetuating such an idea that is incompatible with the principle of Unity and Love. As you clear your own thoughts, observe and enjoy how this work affects the people in your life.

    Enjoy peace, balance and love.

    With Love…
