They stay on the surface of life without digging deep.<\/em><\/p>\n If I had to make a choice between the words Love and God, I would choose love. I disregard God because those who know “love” also know God anyway. However, those who rack their brains and philosophize on God may never know love, hence God. <\/em><\/p>\n Emotions, on the other hand, are subject to the law of contrasts since they are parts of the dualistic mind. This simply means that we cannot have good without getting hold of the bad. The thing that is incorrectly named joy is actually the passing pleasure part of the suffering\/pleasure cycle most of the time.<\/p>\n What pleasures you today may cause suffering tomorrow or through its absence whenever it leaves. The thing we take for love may pleasure and excite us for some time while this addictive attachment is actually a status of over-neediness that may turn into the opposite in an instant. Thus and so, many \u201clove\u201d relationships shuttle between \u201clove\u201d and \u201chate\u201d and \u201cattraction\u201d and \u201cattack\u201d when the initial pleasure passes.<\/p>\n Buddha says that suffering and pain arise from desires and we have to cut desires loose, which means letting go of all desires, in order to be freed of pain. Desires are the endless urges of the material world.
