Ozge’s Book Club<\/h1>\n

Read! Read! This is the first commandment, right? \ud83d\ude42 A Book Club is perhaps the greatest worship \ud83d\ude42<\/h3>\n

I may have taken this to heart a little too much that I have been reading since my middle-high school years. I was wondering about philosophers back then. We always purchased the books by Nietzsche, whose titles I was not even able to pronounce, in sets. Those book sets were the most valuable treasures of mine. I used to read some books over and over again. It took me years to realize how much good reading books did for me. Like saving money\u2026 Like investment funds\u2026 It becomes a power offering you opportunities as being multiplied.<\/p>\n

I want to share the books I read and found a niche in my mind with you. A recommended book means more to me. I know that the book in question was not recommended to me by chance as nothing in this life is a coincidence. It came to me because I was meant to read it. I somehow invited it into my life.<\/p>\n

I write the parts I liked in a book into a notebook since I do not want to scratch the book because I usually give the books to someone else after I read them. I share all these parts and my own comments in the section titled Book Notes. I would like to share the books themselves here.<\/p>\n

Exploring gives a great pleasure. I keep exploring and invite you to join in this path.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s start with Eckhart Tolle.<\/h3>\n

The esteemed author sharing the most valuable one, \u201cThe Power of Now\u201d<\/strong>, with us says that all desires arise from the mind’s seeking of salvation or satisfaction, in external things and in the future, rather than the joy of Being. “As long as I am the “mind,” I am these desires, these needs, desires, attachments, and hatreds. Even my desire for liberation or enlightenment while I am in that state is just another desire to be fulfilled or fulfilled in the future. So I am trying to become liberated from desire. Don’t try to reach enlightenment, or to “reach”. BE PRESENT IN THE MOMENT. Be there as an observer of the mind.<\/p>\n

The “moment” is as it is. Observe how the mind labels it, and how this labeling process, living constantly judging, creates pain and unhappiness. By following the way the mind works, if you step outside of its resistance patterns, then you can allow the “present moment” to happen. This will give you a taste of INNER FREEDOM, A TRUE INTERNAL PEACE, UNCONDITIONAL TO EXTERNAL CONDITIONS.<\/p>\n

Time is not a precious thing at all, because it is an illusion.<\/h3>\n

What you perceive as valuable is not time, but the only point outside of time: the now. It is truly valuable. The more you focus on time – the past and the future – the more you miss the Now, the most precious thing that exists.<\/p>\n

Why is “now” the most valuable thing?<\/h3>\n

Because it is the only thing that actually exists. The eternal present is the place in which our entire life develops. It is the only constant factor. Life is now. There has never been and never will be a moment in your life where it is not now. Second; “Now” is the only point that can take you beyond the limits of the mind. It is your only entry point into the infinite and formless realm of Being.<\/p>\n

What causes all negativity is the psychological accumulation of time and the denial of the present moment.<\/h3>\n

Unrest, tension, worry, sadness – all states of fear – are caused by being in too much future and not being present enough in the moment. Feelings of guilt, resentment, grievance, pain, sadness, bitterness, and all unforgiveness are caused by being in the past too much and not being present enough in the present.<\/p>\n

Most people find it hard to believe that a state of consciousness free from all negativity is possible. However, this is the state of freedom that all spiritual teachings point to, the promise of salvation here, not in the future.<\/p>\n

You may find it difficult to accept “time” as the cause of all your suffering or problems. You believe these problems are caused by certain situations in your life, and from a traditional perspective this is true. But the problems actually continue to replace each other until you deal with the mind’s core problem – its creative dysfunction – its attachment to the past and the future and its denial of the Now. If the perceived causes of all your problems or unhappiness had miraculously disappeared today; but if you still haven’t come to be more present, more conscious, you will soon find yourself with a series of similar problems that follow you like a shadow wherever you go. Ultimately there is only one problem; time-bound mind itself.<\/p>\n

You wouldn’t believe you could reach a point where you could get rid of all your problems. You are right. You will never reach that point because you are at that point now.<\/h3>\n

There is no salvation in time. You cannot be free in the future. THE KEY TO FREEDOM IS IN THE MOMENT. So you can be free NOW.<\/p>\n
